PLOT:
After 74 villains break out of prison, the world's most powerful superheroes team up to capture all of them, and also to defend Earth from widespread threats.
season 1 -
Iron Man butts heads with Nick Fury and SHIELD after HYDRA attacks a meeting of the United Nations. Thor battles the Wrecking Crew on Earth, while Loki plots against Odin and Asgard. The Hulk is haunted by General Ross and the Absorbing Man while Hawkeye discovers a conspiracy within SHIELD. Kang the Conqueror observes, while Captain America and the Red Skull battle during World War II. Ant-Man and the Wasp work together to stop Whirlwind. Meanwhile, T'Challa's father fights the Man-Ape for control of Wakanda. Mysterious attacks on America's maximum security prisons leads to mass outbreaks of super-villains, causing Iron Man, Thor, Wasp, Henry Pym and the Hulk to team together in order to stop them. The newly-formed Avengers face the seemingly limitless power of Graviton, but only the Hulk may be capable of stopping him. The Enchantress uses her magic to manipulate the Hulk into distrusting the rest of the Avengers and attacking Thor. The Avengers discover the frozen body of Captain America and revive him, leading Baron Zemo to attack, seeking revenge against Cap for infecting him with Virus X. Furious at Tony Stark for buying up his company, Simon Williams seeks revenge by undergoing a dangerous AIM procedure, overseen by MODOK and the Grim Reaper, Williams' brother, which turns him into a being of pure ion energy. The Black Panther seeks the Avengers' aid in freeing his African nation of Wakanda from usurper king Man-Ape and stopping HYDRA agents Ulysses Klaw and the Grim Reaper from stealing Wakanda's supply of vibranium. When the Leader creates a bubble of gamma radiation emanating from the Cube that mutates any human it touches, the Avengers team up with Doc Samson to stop him. Meanwhile, Hawkeye infiltrates a HYDRA base in order to capture Black Widow. It's up to Hawkeye, the Hulk and Thor to save the day when the Leader's gamma radiation ray mutates the rest of the Avengers and threatens to do the same to every human on Earth. It's Hawkeye, Black Panther and Ant-Man to the rescue when Baron Zemo and his Masters of Evil defeat the rest of the team and take over the Avengers Mansion. The Avengers join forces with Captain Mar-Vell in order to prevent a Kree sentry drone from destroying the Earth. Defying yjhe orders of both SHIELD and Iron Man, Hawkeye and Mockingbird allow themselves to be captured by HYDRA in an attempt to bring down Black Widow. Kang arrives from the future, claiming he must kill Captain America and conquer the Earth in order to save it from destruction. Kang launches a full-scale invasion of Earth using an army of robots, and in order to save New York, the Avengers are forced to unleash the Ultrons who serve as guards for the Negative Zone Prison. The Avengers board Kang's command ship in order to put an end to his invasion of Earth. Dark elf Malekith the Accursed locates an Asgardian artifact that plunges the Earth into eternal winter. Black Widow turns to the Avengers for help when HYDRA and AIM battle over control of the Cosmic Cube. When Ultron-5 goes out of control and kidnaps Wasp, things go crazy when the droids kill Thor with his lasers. Despite Thor going missing and Captain America ending up in the hospital, the Avengers must stop Ultron from eliminating the world's most flawed creatures, humanity. The Masters of Evil take over Earth and Loki double crosses Baron Zemo. Separated across the mythological realms, the Avengers face new threats and make allies for the fight against Loki. Eight of the nine realms of Asgard have fallen, only the Earth remains. The Avengers are all that stands between Loki and total conquest.
season 2 -
While playing host to the Fantastic Four at the Avengers Mansion, the Avengers find themselves under attack by Doctor Doom's forces. Seeking revenge against Tony Stark, the leader of AIM seizes control of Stark Enterprises' corporate tower. The Enchantress is on a vindictive hunt for Baron Zemo. He appeals to the Avengers for help against her. Ronan the Accuser of the Kree Empire arrives on Earth with Captain Mar-Vell in tow to pass judgment on whether the planet should be annexed or destroyed. When Henry Pym discovers that his equipment has been stolen and being used by a criminal, he hires Heroes for Hire to recover it. The Avengers try to help a man who appears to have been experimented on by aliens and is now haunted by another extraterrestrial group. Iron Man learns from Nick Fury that the Avengers have been infiltrated by a Skrull imposter. The team turns against each other. Thor meets an alien trespasser whose hostility and monstrous appearance belie his unexpected worthiness to wield his hammer, Mjolnir. SHIELD is apparently attacked by the Hulk, but Banner is accounted for elsewhere at the same time while this Hulk is red in color. The real Captain America and his fellow prisoners attempt to escape their Skrull prison. A Skrull team posing as the Avengers invades Wakanda with Ms. Marvel unsure whether to side with them or Black Panther. The Skrull Empire initiates their seizure of Earth, and the Avengers are hard pressed to thwart it. With Captain America's reputation now in tatters, the superhero and the similarly maligned Spider-Man find themselves trying to thwart a prisoner-transport interception. Captain America and friends travel to Wakanda to repair his shield, unaware that a powerful android is after the shield among other objectives. When the Enchantress magically weakens Thor, Iron Man and Captain America, only Hawkeye is unaffected as the Wrecking Crew and Loki in the Destroyer body pursue them. When an Avenger group visits SHIELD's special prison in the Negative Zone, they soon find themselves under siege by a mysterious enemy. Ultron orders the Vision to lead his android impersonators of the Avengers in capturing the originals. When Henry Pym is apparently killed, a new vigilante using equipment broadly similar to the scientist's is discovered attacking criminals. After a month of being dormant for repairs. the Vision finds the world under the control of Tony Stark. When there is a sudden exposure of a toxin around the Avengers Mansion, the Secretary of Defense blames the Avengers and lays siege to the headquarters. While dealing with the Red Skull's escape with his Sleeper robots, Captain America also investigates the villain's former henchman who seems disturbingly familiar. With the Hulk apparently rampaging wild, the Red Hulk comes to the Avengers to request to join. When the Avengers are apparently killed by Kang the Conqueror, an automatic function created by Tony Stark calls up several allies as replacements. As warned, the Kree Empire arrive to threaten Earth. The battle against the Kree Empire continues with Captain Mar-Vell facing an agonizing moral decision in the conflict. The Avengers and their allies face the ultimate test when Galactus, the Devourer of Planets, comes to consume Earth.
