PLOT:
Charlie Cale has an extraordinary ability to determine when someone is lying. She hits the road with her Plymouth Barracuda and at every stop encounters a new cast of characters and strange crimes that she can't help but investigate and solve.
season 1 -
When a close friend meets an untimely end, Charlie Cale, a casino cocktail waitress with an uncanny knack for identifying lies, is determined to unravel these mysterious events, even if it endangers her own life. Wounded and on the run, Charlie is forced to make a pit stop in desolate New Mexico where she tries to clear the name of a trucker framed for the murder of a local. Charlie takes a job at a family-run Texas BBQ joint and must use her skills of perception to sniff out the truth behind a shocking death. Charlie goes on tour with has-been metal band Doxxxology, a motley crew of dejected rockers who've spent decades trying to write a new hit, Charlie suspects foul play when one musician winds up dead. Working at a retirement home, Charlie makes friends with two rebellious old ladies who may have taken matters into their own hands. Charlie's waitress job at a dinner theater is interrupted by a tragic death on stage during a performance by two washed-up television stars, when she starts to investigate, deadly motivations come to light. While working at a go-kart complex, Charlie becomes involved in a bitter feud between an aging race car driver and a hotheaded young upstart, whose rivalry has explosive consequences. A special effects artist unearths a past project to find closure from the guilt of a fatal on-set accident, when old demons resurface, Charlie is left to unravel a new deadly plot. Charlie finds herself stranded in a motel during a blizzard, in order to survive the night, Charlie must decipher the deadly tension between her questionable companions. Charlie faces her greatest challenge yet when she is caught in the crossfire of a deadly power play that puts her in the sights of two ruthless crime syndicates and the FBI.
season 2 -
Charlie Cale takes on an investigation into a seemingly innocent death in a friend's family. When her new friend disappears from a film set, Charlie must unearth clues at the family-run funeral home that served as the production's most recent location. Caught between the mob and the FBI, Charlie must cobble together the truth of who is working for whom, using her talents to find a rat, or possibly a mole. Adjusting to her new way of life, Charlie teams up with an animal liberation operation to rescue a gentle soul unjustly framed for murder at a police awards ceremony. While working as a ball girl for a bad minor league team, Charlie suspects foul play in the death of one of the players. Charlie gets caught up in the politics of an elementary school classroom when a harmless talent show performance is upstaged by a student's diabolical plot involving the class pet. While delivering food, Charlie makes a love connection with one of her customers. Meanwhile, an aspiring screenwriter working sales in a big-box store needs a push to change careers. However, he ignores good advice to heed bad advice. Charlie charms a group of traditional scammers and is excited to learn their tricks, but everything gets complicated when a scam goes wrong. Now a city-dweller, Charlie's housewarming is put in jeopardy when her neighbor suspiciously dies. Charlie is convinced by her gym buddy that there's more to the tragic death of a local lifter than poor technique. Charlie vows to clear the name of a friend caught in a compromising position at a wedding. Charlie questions everything she believes in as she races to warn the target of a notorious killer.
