PLOT:
The year is 1717. Wealthy land-owner Stede Bonnet has a midlife crisis and decides to blow up his cushy life to become a pirate. It does not go well. Based on a true story.

season 1 - 
Aristocrat-turned-pirate-captain Stede Bonnet is put to the test when his crew encounters a British naval vessel. Stede battles feelings of guilt while hunting for missing hostages. Lucius makes a surprising discovery. Stede (aka The Gentleman Pirate) conducts business in the Republic of Pirates. Oluwande and Jim face their past. As the threat of attack looms, Blackbeard and Stede finally meet. Jim fields questions from an overly curious crew. Blackbeard and Stede attend a fancy party. Oluwande and Frenchie embrace false identities. Izzy and Lucius go head-to-head. Stede and crew stage a spectacle. Blackbeard struggles to carry out his plan. A trip to St. Augustine reveals more about Jim's past. Stede leads Blackbeard on an adventure. Blackbeard's old friend Calico Jack appears on the Revenge. Soon his presence starts to cause friction between Stede and Blackbeard. Captured and facing trial, Stede and Blackbeard face tough choices and an uncertain future. While Stede attempts to reenter his old life, Blackbeard tends to a wounded heart.

season 2 - 
While Stede adjusts to his new normal, a heartbroken Blackbeard fills the void with daily raids, sparking concern amongst Izzy and the crew. Aboard Zheng's ship, Stede, Olu and Black Pete have surprising revelations while Blackbeard's crew plots their revenge. While the Revenge crew gleefully reunites under Zheng's reign, Stede attempts to bring back Blackbeard, who must face his own difficult truths. After he's banished from the Revenge, Blackbeard unwittingly receives relationship advice from some dysfunctional old friends. As Blackbeard remains plagued by the distrust of his crew, Izzy schools Stede on how to be an effective captain. While the crew celebrates Calypso's birthday, Blackbeard faces a violent party-crasher seeking revenge. As Blackbeard reevaluates his life, Stede reveals in his newfound infamy. With some help from Jim, Oluwande reunites with a hesitant Zheng. Stede, Zheng, Spanish Jackie and the rest of the Revenge crew team up to take down a nefarious common enemy threatening the world of piracy.
