PLOT:
A young black Southern woman struggles with mental and physical abuse at the hands of her father and finds herself stuck in the vicious cycle when she is unceremoniously married off to an older man, who also rules over her with a quick fist and short temper. Her only solace in this brutal life is her beloved younger sister. But, the two sisters are ruthlessly separated from one another by this violent person, she fights to find her identity and strength to stand up for herself over the course of four decades.
